Acupuncture Is Gentle, Natural and Effective

Pain Management

In most cases,  for acute or minor conditions, patients can recover within 2 to 3 weeks with Dr. Liau's treatment. This will help them go back to work sooner, resume their regular workout in no time, and be ready for their family vacations.  Whatever reason it may be, Dr. Liau will work with her patients to reach their goals in a timely fashion.

Chronic Conditions can also be regulated within 2 to 3 weeks.  Conditions may consist of herniated discs, bulging discs, heel spurs, tailbone inflammation, minor bone fractures, and arthritis (in the neck, lower back or the knees), or torn ligaments, such as the rotator cuff or the elbow. All can easily be treated with acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Avoid Surgery

Often, after the surgery, patients have to go through a period of four to six weeks of physical therapy with as many as 12 to 18 sessions in order to recover successfully.  Plus, the rates of success on surgery may be at 50-70%. On the other hand, by going for the same number of visits or, in most cases, fewer visits with Acupuncture and Herbal treatments, patients can start to recover from the above conditions without undergoing surgery.

Patients usually walk away with more knowledge of their bodies and how to prevent future injuries based on Dr. Liau's recommendations.

Pre- and Post-Surgical Complications

Those patients who have a severe condition and need surgery often come to see Dr. Liau to decrease pain while waiting for their surgery date.  They also come for treatments just a few days before the surgery to help them sleep better, have less anxiety, and a better mental attitude to fight against any complications.

After the surgery, patients usually come to see Dr. Liau again to take care of any side effects from the pain medication they may be taking. Acupuncture is excellent for post-surgical side effects such as surgical pain, loss of appetite, upset stomach/nausea, as well as to strengthen the immune system and increase energy.

Acupuncture is a great way to reduce the swelling and decrease stiffness and pain, which will help patients to regain their strength and start their physical therapy on schedule. In fact, using acupuncture in conjunction with physical therapy can greatly improve the recovery process and often cut the time by 30%.  Acupuncture also is an excellent way to help patients repair any nerve damage they have experienced as a result of the surgery.

Testimonials

Case #1: (A 4o-year-old construction worker) After a few visits to Dr. Liau, I am able to bend my knees on the job and walk without limping, which I had not been able to do for several months. My knee got injured on the job and I was absent from work for weeks.  My neighbor told me about Dr. Liau because he had been to her before and got great results.  I decided to give it a try.  After my 1st treatment, my knees were kind of sore, but my pain went from scale 10 down to scale 4 after the 1st visit.  I did a total of 6 treatments to get rid of my knee pain.

Dr. Liau takes time to talk with me and understands the type of treatment she needed to remove my pain. She makes sure you are comfortable before, during, and after each session. I know Dr. Liau helped me a lot and now I am back to work, sooner than my doctor thought would be possible and avoided having surgery at the end.

Case #2: (A 66-Year-Old Grandmother & Her Husband) Prior to acupuncture, I could not walk for more than 30 minutes without pain. I lived in chronic pain in both of my feet (Morton's Neuroma).  After receiving acupuncture treatments, my life changed 100%. My pain was at scale 9 (on a scale of 1 - 10), and my pain decreased to scale 1 by the 4th treatment. I am now off prescription medications for pain and only take herbals and I am using herbal patches -- 100% natural.

In addition, my husband who has been suffering from lower back pain & sciatica for the last 4 years due to bulging disc also went to Dr. Liau. After 7-8 treatments along with taking herbal medicine, his pain was not there any more and he was able to go back to playing golf again - the sport he enjoys the most.

Dr. Liau is fully dedicated in helping her patients; you can feel it in her hands. She is positive minded and she makes you think positive. I am grateful for her "healing hands" and kindred spirit, which I think is part of the healing process and why acupuncture works. Dr. Liau is just beautiful, that's all I can say.

Case #3: (A 45-year-old police officer - male) As a sufferer of lower back pain for many years due to my extensive driving in the police car, I had difficulty bending over and running which is a necessity in my job.  I also experienced insomnia due to my change of shifts every few months.  After only 5 treatments with Acupuncture, my pain went away.  I found that when I took prescription sleeping pills that I would wake up with drowsiness in the morning which can be dangerous to do my job. Herbal medicine helps me sleep with no side effects.  Dr Liau is very knowledgeable in her field. Before coming to the Acupuncture DOCTOR I tried many other acupuncturists and they were not as efficient as Dr. Liau - not even a comparison.

Case #4: (A 39-year-old stockbroker - male) I had tendonitis in my shoulder on and off for 9 months that radiated down to my triceps area. Prior to acupuncture it had deteriorated to the point of constant pain. I had limited mobility and could not stretch to the back and experiencing great discomfort when I tried to comb my hair. My pain was at scale 9 (10 being the worst). I saw an Orthopedic Physician who did nothing but offer to shoot me full of cortisone.  However, at the end of my 1st acupuncture treatment, I was able to raise my arm 30 degrees.  And I did a few more sessions; by my 5th treatment, I was able to raise my arm in all directions without any problem. My shoulder is now totally free of pain.  I can workout in the gym again, it was a miracle!

Case #5: (A 55-Year-Old Female) Overall, I have suffered with insomnia, headaches, hot flashes, thumb pain (arthritis), TMJ, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and sciatic nerve in my leg and hip for many years.  I have proven to myself that by going to see Dr. Liau is the best decision I have made in my entire life. I did not give up on myself - did not want to live with pain for the rest of my life and tolerate side affects from prescription medications (being nauseated most of the time). Acupuncture was not painful at all. I say it was like a very small pinch, if any at all.

I was in disbelief after each acupuncture treatment that my pain had extremely decreased. No matter how personal your problem is you can always confide in Dr. Liau. You can tell her as many problems as you have; she always knows what to do and to make you feel better.  Non-acupuncture doctors are amazed with my progress from pain to cholesterol and blood pressure control. Thank you Dr Liau!

Case #5: (A 31-Year-Old Female Insurance Agent) I came in for my right ankle pain, for which I underwent surgery a few months ago.  The ankle was swollen, and very painful, even after two courses (2 months) of physical therapy.  My doctor said there is nothing they can do but to have me keep doing stretching to see if my fluid will come down.  I could hardly walk up stairs or stand for a long period of time.  However, after a few acupuncture treatments I saw an awesome change in the way I felt. I was walking upstairs, standing, sitting down. It really helped me accomplish normal everyday things. I could actually sleep better without the pain keeping me up.

Prices are very reasonable. Last year alone, after surgery I went to a regular physician's office and between the visits and medication I spent $600.00 without feeling any better.  With acupuncture, however, I only spent $375.00 and felt a great improvement after only a few treatments. This is a great alternative to spending more money and feeling the same. The herbals are extremely helpful and are very low in price.
